Magí Puig was born in 1966 in Palou, Catalonia. He lives and works in Barcelona. For over twenty-five years, Jakobson Gallery has been his Parisian home, a partnership built on time and trust. His work is made of journeys and stolen moments: the shores of Senegal, the streets of Vietnam, markets and beaches from across the world. A painter of light above all, he works his backgrounds like sources from which figures and architectures emerge, intense and almost sculptural, in deep and resonant colours.
